I started add photos on Google Maps about 3 years ago. I remember that my first contribution was some food photos of a very good restaurant in Bogotá, it was my first time there and my coworkers invited me to that place because of my birthday. From that moment I have not stopped posting photos and reviews.
What I love sharing the most on Google Maps are food photos, specially burguers. In my case, I love to check food photos on google maps before I go to eat. I rather to check food photos on google maps than photos from the websites of the restaurants. What you see from the local guides it’s what you get, if some dish something is dissatisfying, a restaurant will not upload a picture of that.
I want to tell you that every year in Bogota, whe have this event call “Burguer master”. The main objetive of this event is to find the best burger in town. We, as a customers need a phone app to know which are the 40 restaurants that are participating. The main idea is that if we want, we visit as many restaurants as possible in one week in order to give our opinion of the best burguer, a burguer that we call “hamburguesa artesanal” wich is a handmade meat burgers, without preservatives or additives. One of the rules is that all of these restaurants have to sell their most popular burguer to the same price with potato chips and beer for one week (does not apply for home delivery). As expected, there are many people in the restaurants because there are good burgers at very low prices.
This is very positive for these kind of restaurants, after the event, they become more popular and its here where me, as a local guide can help to other people find good food, giving my honest opinion. I like to take pictures of the food, the place and make a complete review of the location, the prices, the customer service. I love being part of this huge team.
