Accuracy, or the lack of it, was a problem I found with local information on Google in Ghana. I don’t think contributors deliberately set out to provide non-factual information. I believe people generally misunderstood the responsibility required when one opted to answer a question posed by Google to a place they had been to. They often were not aware that their answers, giving without a care or thought, could help or hurt others who had cause to believe the information was true and accurate. I felt that educated, more geographically aware people needed to accept the responsibility of ensuring that information provided of the Ghanaian community were as accurately precise as possible. This is why I, an Expedition Navigator who knows Ghana like the back of my palm, signed up as a local guide. That way, I was sure to invest the time and resources needed to ensure accuracy and provide true information about the places and cultures people wanted to experience in Ghana, and what an amazing experience that job has been.
