As a graphic designer I search a lot on the internet, participating in forums looking up or anseeians questions. It is clear to me that the best information and problem shooting is provided by active users (of the Adobe Cc in my case, but not only). In most cases I am able to find answers or at least hints that will lead me to an answer which, in return, I would post on the same blog where I found my hint.
I see Local Guides in a similar manner - I am the “user” who is familiar with a “product” or an “issue”. But in case if Local Guides there’s another dimension, a deeper level of familiarity which makes this more human and real: as apposed to the internet, where anyone can be anywhere, in a certain sense, the guide is actually there, and knows the place in a way that a remote interested surfer can not.
In this sense I see Local Guides as a great cooperation between the real and the virtual worlds.
