Local Guides, Thank you!

Where to go? ? What to do? :heavy_check_mark: :heavy_multiplication_x: Is it good? ???

I knew about local guides a few years ago. After work my friends and I used to go out but sometimes the places we’d go to were not fun at all and some other times they could even be dangerous. That’s why we went ahead and started doing some research about what places to visit and how they were ranked.

When we found out Google Maps had the option to rate places, share photos and comments we started doing it as well because we found it to be really helpful and interesting. At first we we would only share our feedback sometimes but then, we discovered we were also being rated by the platform on our evaluations, which made it even more interesting and fun.

It became a habit to always look for references before going to new places. We all, at work, are focused in customer experience, giving always the best to clients and it is very difficult for us not to evaluate someone, something every time, so instead of only sharing among us, we also do it in the Local Guides.

We didn’t realize the power this could have, but at times, when we had bad experiences, owners or manager of places would get back to us to make things right. This doesn’t happen very often but when it does it’s a really nice surprise.

Local Guides changed the way we go places, the way we see them. It created a community that is focused to help more people by giving feedback by people that have had first hand experience and that makes it more reliable.

So, if you are one of those who likes the adventure, is always paying attention to small details and like to share… You should be a Local Guide!
