Local Guides have the power to change the world positively. It’s a fact, in so many profound ways. Having gone through almost a year of Covid-19 slowdowns, shutdowns and lockdowns, we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, as multiple vaccines and other treatments being rolled out. Unfortunately throughout the last almost 1 year, many businesses including many small local businesses have been permanently shut, and many more struggling in a effort to stay afloat.
2021 is a new year. Let us all, willing Local Guides take this year in our own personal effort, group or community effort to support and help local businesses, especially small local businesses. They are the most fragile and need most help at the moment.
This is not a personal idea, it does not come only from me. It comes from all of us, our idea, our effort and our calling. So many Local Guides around the world have already started activities to support small local businesses. So let’s make it a worldwide community effort.
This is what we all can do, feel free to make any variations and make it unique to yourselves and your own local community.
Throughout 2021, every single month, let’s organize and implement concerted effort to add, update, highlight, review, share, promote small local businesses around where we live, work and visit.
Let’s go visit and give them personal business in our personal life
Let’s organize physical meetups to update Maps, experience new food in food crawls and more.
Let’s organize virtual meet-ups to share our experiences
Let’s update Google Maps with their latest information, add photos and reviews.
Let’s share the small local business we support and our experiences in Local Guides Connect and also social media.
