Local Guides Storytelling virtual meet-up with connect moderator, the program ended a while ago today. This is the first time I have participated in such a virtual meetup. The whole thing was new and exciting to me. Sixty or more local guides from all over Bangladesh participated. The exact number is probably higher. Because many people left the meetup for a while and many new ones joined later. So only admins can give correct account.
Sumaiya Zafrin Chowdhury was the host of today’s meetup. I saw her for the first time today. She is a Senior Local Guide and Connect Moderator. Several other Connect moderators were also present. I could learn many new things from them. They cherished many memories of the World Summit of Local Guides. Several of us from the Rajshahi local guide community were at the meetup. Experienced local guides guided us on various topics. Especially writing reviews, writing blogs, taking pictures etc. were most important. I already knew many things. But most of them I didn’t know. Or even if I knew, I didn’t understand the details.
So today’s meetup was very useful for me. Organizers said that such arrangements will continue on more important issues.
Today’s meetup had a special surprise. To be honest, I still do not know what it can be! Perhaps souvenirs from Google Maps can be gifted. It will be known only when the gift is received. But I am very happy to receive such a gift announcement. Many will get the gift from Rajshahi local guide community. But some don’t get it. Feel bad for them. Nahid Hossain, Asaduzzaman, Ashiq, Masud Rana, Sabbirul Islam and many others will receive gifts. Good luck to all.
