Empathy, “putting yourself in each other’s shoes” and seeing the world with other lenses. With the lenses of those who do not yet know the place we are visiting. One of the most important things to understand other people’s needs, and with our comments, photos and videos be able to help those who require this help.
That means for me to be a Local Guide, to have the power to contribute to change and a better world to live, share and be supportive. It is more than commenting how delicious a dish is, the beauty of the place, the quality of the service or the presentation of the menu, is to help make good visit or purchase decisions, for ALL who will visit the place, including those whose purchase decision is based accessibility to the place, in the adaptations of the bathrooms, in the way of communicating and allowing the ACCESSIBILITY of ALL without exclusion.
Being a Local Guide is “SHARE MY WORLD WITH THE WORLD”, it has always been my definition and I think so. It’s having fun while helping, it’s DEMOCRATIZING information WITHOUT RESTRICTION and with INCLUSION.
From Colombia, my country, in a country that has fought for peace and equality, I invite all who read me to share their world with the world, to work for the common good and to make our planet a planet for all, Inclusive and solidarity.
