@KlaudiyaG @Ivi_Ge We have had 2 local spam guides review our company recently. It is clear that both of them are just reviewing as many companies as possible to get a higher local guide score. Neither of them have ever been in contact with our company or had anything relevant to review us on. These types of reviews are ruining Google’s Review system. We would like their reviews to be taken off.
Hello @Hunzy
If you are a business owner, you need reporting the spam on Google My Business.
Local Guides Connect forum is exclusively for non-business entities.
Hi @C_T . I did report it on Google My Business. I just came across this website that said if I want to report a local guide, I need to mention a moderator in these forums. https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Help-Desk/How-to-identify-and-report-fraud-on-Google-Maps/ba-p/553272
@Hunzy on top of what @C_T has suggested, there are a few things one can do.
This is best done through mobile Google Maps app. In that particular business:
-
if you find any review is misleading or fake, you can go to that review and “Report Review” at the upper left of each review.
-
if you find a specific user (Local Guide or not), which constantly gives repeated or inappropriate reviews, you can then also click on the username and “Report Profile” at the upper left of the user profile.
My suggestion is to report a profile only if the user consistently upload inappropriate reviews or photos, not just a single one review/photo. If a single review/photo is inappropriate, just report that particular review or photo is sufficient.
Can you try the above also. Thanks
(Still, Google My Business is really the best route for businesses to manage a specific business)
@StephenAbraham Thanks for the advice. I will go ahead and try that out. I didn’t think to try the mobile maps app.
