Local Guides reward

I have received a reward from Local Guides due to the contributions that I have done in Google Maps. I am so happy for that. So I ordered it (to Spain, where I am staying currently) and I am about to receive it also. But courier company is asking me to pay 5.20 EUR for the customs clearance in order to receive the shipment. Can you please confirm whether it is something that we can ignore it and tell to courier company? Please clarify on this.

I have also recently received my Rewards at INDIA and courier company is not demanding delivery charges…

Hi @Raj_Tayade , Thanks for your reply. Here the courier company is asking charges for customs clearance. I am not sure why it is like that, I guess it should not be the case. So I just wanted to post it here to get help on that topic. I am thinking whether it is required to pay the amount to get shipment or it will be reimbursed later to us, not sure.

Awesome glad to hear you earned a reward I have recently received on as well and am waiting on it arrival I will keep you updated if they try the same thing with me and I am in USA

Hi @manojgv2009 yes sometime customs are aren’t aware that duty is already paid by the sender.

Don’t worry you don’t have to payment duty and you will receive your gift Hassel free.

You just need to inform the spoke person of the corrier service or at custom duty that it’s in the DDP form. It’s means the duty is already paid by the sender.

You can send them the screenshot of the mail of the DDP form you might have received by the sender company.

I haven’t received any email from sender company.

Anyways, I reached out to the customer care and they asked me not to accept the shipment as they are planning to send an another one.

I had the same issue as you manoj . I paid and accepted as they said it was custom.

Hi @JuhiParekh - I dropped an email to customer service of the Vendor, they asked me not to accept the shipment by paying the money. They said they will send me an another shipment without these issues.

So I am currently waiting to receive it.
