“What does the Local Guides program mean to you?”
- The world
I have searched for places I have never been to. I have added quite a number of places on the Google Maps which were not showing. I have added reviews of places I’ve been to for the benefit of others who might want to visit those places, in addition I have added pictorial evidence of these places. I am become part of the world’s discovery service.
- Standardized
The Google Maps contains very specific details of places, thanks to Local Guides like myself. Duplication of place names can be easily identified. It makes my searches for specific places so simple.
- Organised
Google Maps can fit into a tiny gadget and be carried around unlike paper Atlases which can be vulnerable to weather. Changes to landscape are promptly featured as Local Guides are everywhere mapping the earth’s surface making it very easy to navigate around the globe without getting lost.
- Pleasure

Local Guides has inspired me to view the world in its beauty. Everything which I behold is beautiful in its own way and I appreciate it that way.
Local Guides is my calling.
