The Local Guides program has had a significant impact on my life, it changes the way i view this world. since joined the program two years ago, i always feel excited to add photos and give review to the map. for me, it is a new way to help others. not only help the owner but also help the customer to make a good decision.
since join the program i have 1075 contributions with 1.713.170 views in total. below are the details :
- reviews : 34.326 views
- photos : 1.635.698 views
- place added : 43.146 views
the photos added has the biggest impact to the total views about 95%, places added 3% and the rest is reviews added about 2%.
the most viewed photos added is “Tuhan Yesus Memberkati Statue” (Jesus Christ blessing statue) which has 371.490 views or 23% from total photos viewed. it is located in north sulawesi, manado, Indonesia and i feel so lucky that have been there in 2018.
in my opinion it gets so many views because it’s an iconic statue. if Brazil has Cristo Redentor statue, Indonesia also has “Tuhan Yesus Memberkati Statue” which has 50 meter in total height just 10 meter different from one in Brazil and it has been nominated as the second tallest statue in Asia. the other uniqueness is the slope level of the statue, 35 degree, which make it looks like a flying statue on the sky. the access to get to the statue is a replica of cross road and it has 14 stopping point that each of them represent suffering of what Jesus has through. because of that it gets an appreciation from Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) as the most steep of cross road.
