Local Guides means to me: Home and safety

I love Local Guides program because is a real example of “once for me, once for you”

I’m from Spain, but for the last 4 years Scotland was my home.

I’m a traveller since I can remember, my parents liked too. That’s why I was born with a traveller gen.

I visited more than 25 countries and lived in Mexico and Colombia too.

Six months ago, I started a solo traveller. I never traveled for that long. I started in Poland, crossing all the country doing hitchhiking, I arrived to Lithuania, Latvia and I crossed Russia in winter following the transiberiano route.

I escaped from the cold and went to enjoy the warm of Thailand and the smiles of Myanmar.

During my trip, I have faced loneliness, the feeling to be lost in the middle of nowhere, the uncertainty of not knowing if I will be able to arrive, but somehow, always everything was fine.

I have to be honest and more than half of the times, Local Guides and the reviews helped me to have a happy ending.

Every time that I arrived to a new city or village, Google was my partner to decide if a place was good or not to go, and not just that, also helped me to discover places where I felt as home.

In Russia, I found a nice hostel next to the Baikal Lake that made me to extend my time there because of how good I was feeling, or in Kazan, that I found a really nice vegetarian restaurant that I visit every day during my stay, or in Myanmar where I enjoyed a coffee that transported me home.

The good thing of Local Guides is that you can do the same for other people. Obviously we are all different and not everyone is going to enjoy the same things like me, but the opportunities are infinite to choose.

I’ve been lucky, and I discovered few nice places in Bangkok. Some of them that you can enjoy for free and have a real local experience. Who doesn’t like free stuffs?

In resume, Local Guides is a way to help people, making them not have bad expertises and enjoy everywhere they go.
