Local Guides means Family, Connection, Community and Trust

Sometimes one does not realize the importance of its voice or the strength of its opinions, since you are not considered an “important influencer”, and you give for granted that no one will listen to you. However with the Local Guides Program is very different.

Through this program, I have realized that people do care about what I write, what I think and what I feel in every place I visit. Receiving the monthly email and seeing likes in my opinions stimulates me to continue creating connections with people that I don’t even thought I would have something in common.

In addition, Local Guides is a community that grows every second and that motivates me to help and be helped. For example, when I go on a trip (which I love), I rely on the opinions of my fiends in the Local Guides Program to visit places, restaurants and book hotels. Without their help, my travels would not be the same and I like to think that my opinions guide other travelers to live unforgettable experiences.

On the other hand, words aren’t enough, so I once asked myself, how can I make my reviews more interesting and trustworthy? The answer was simple: photographs.

I really like taking photos and it has become a bit of my addiction to share reviews with photographs, as I feel that I illustrate better and I give more confidence to the people who reads me. As it is said, an image is worth more than a thousand words.

Another important aspect that I like is checking the data of nearby sites or filling in the information so travelers are 100% sure of where they will arrive and what to expect. For me it is important to indicate if they have access to people in wheelchairs or if they have parking, it may seem a small contribution, but for someone I know that it is significant.

For this reason, Google Local Guides has built a family, since we are all part of an interconnected community that creates trust and helps each other. We also help travelers who still do not dare to participate in the program, but I know that when they do, they will become addicted to reviewing and uploading photos… I can’t wait to read what they have to say and welcome them to our big family!
