I love being a Local Guide, because no matter what happens in the world, you are always able to help others, do something good for your community and of course, have some fun J This is especially true when the world is facing difficult times like nowadays. That’s why being a local guide for me means responsibility as well.
I’m sure all of us have asked the questions: what am I going to do at home while being in self quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic? I suggest you to support your community and try to help where you can. You can do this with Google Maps too, here’s how:
- Check out the places nearby, and edit their profile on Maps if needed: are they closed? Are they still operating with home deliveries? If you don’t want your favourite restaurant/museum/shop to go bankrupt, ask them if they sell gift vouchers which you can use later on! If they do, add this information to their profile.
- I’m sure you all have some places on your bucketlist: check them out on Google Maps! Many places have 360 degree content, so you can feel you are actually there! For example, walk around the Taj Mahal on Google Arts & Culture.
- Hopefully the current pandemic situation will end soon, so you can prepare your vacation plans in advance, be prepared, as now you have more time to really check out the places on Google Maps and to plan in advance. Be one step ahead of others.
- I’m sure you cannot wait to get out of your home and go out with your friends again. Make a list which places you would like to visit and share it with your friends. In this way, you will be excited about the future and you will also help your local places flourish again!
If you have other ideas, feel free to share them, this is a community
