As a Local Guide I must insist that everyone at least consider a few days in and around Cancún. I ended up here on almost a whim and never expected what I found. Paradise. The best food I have ever had, Caribbean oceans, white sands, archeological ruins beyond imagination (New 7 Seven wonders of the world kind). The culture, the people, the climate, the options. From resorts and beach relaxation to unreal raw seafood and ceviche amazingness. Whale sharks, cenotés, beaches, islands…
Wow, the views are amazing! I’ve been dreaming to visit Cancun for a long time now and your photos prove me right. Would you mind telling us more about this place? Remember that the more information you add to your posts, the more interest there will be from other Local Guides. There is also a good chance for your post to be chosen for Friday Favourites.
I dream about the food on a daily basis. I would fly to Cancún and drive to Playa Del Carmen, just to visit El Pirata and eat their ceviche de Pulpo. I’m serious. But I digress… sitting on a shaded lounge chair on the public beach of Playa Del fin in the zona hoteleria was well… Peace. Is the only way i can describe it. The best things about Cancún are downtown and the markets, public beaches, the food and the archeological sites. You could go there and feel like you are in Los Angeles, so choose wisely. Stay downtown, eat local, visit local beaches, and I promise you, it will exceed your highest expectations. But do pay for the Mayan sites. Do not miss those. @MoniDi
