I think the best way to find local guides in your locality is either you use the new connect feature which allows you follow post from your favorite location then you put your locality or click on contributor’s profile with badge of any location around you then reach out to them.

When you have further questions, you can use the search field at the top first. Then check the Help desk documents and What are Connect topics before asking a new question in the How-to section.

It’s really a great idea to connect the local guides from your city, you can search Local Guides Community from your city by Search option of connect.
If you are interested to host or join a Meetup, you can post a Virtual meetup on Connect’s Meet-up Site or search Virtual meetups here by clicking on it. After meetup, for more information, you can also check out here: How do I write a great meet-up recap?.
