Freedom to be yourself!

Freedom to express, to give your opinion, to belong to a medium that encourage fair conventions. These are the freedoms I have fancied as Google Local Guide. I am a strong advocate of ‘Power to the People’. Being world’s No.1 Business, Google understands the responsibility and presented us the best platform to express our opinion through Google Local Guide.

My freedom to express inspired dozens of friends and family to become a local guide. We all often exchange ideas and share our thoughts on how to make better visibility of local businesses, restaurants, cafes, parks, and tourists spots so that it becomes easy for a viewer to identify, and decide to contact/approach the specific business or entity.

As a Local Guide I enjoy extensive freedom to do what I love, for instance sharing images of great restaurant food and locations of the places where I have been so far. My love to share as a shutterbug and spotter has been compassed by Local Guides and I look forward to the future to keep perusing what I love the most.

Another strength to my freedom as Local Guide is when my opinion makes a difference. I have been contacted by few businesses on my ratings of their below average service, when the business request ‘how I can gain your satisfaction by improving our quality’, the request-to-improvement itself gives me huge gratification and I find myself powerful to bring a change, not even at lower ratings but also when I give any business or service a high rating and they respond with acknowledgement, it gives me a sense of fulfillment.

Two years ago when I went to a small cafeteria in Sharjah, UAE, eating a basic vegetarian indian thali and taking a picture to upload on Google Maps, couldn’t realize the image will become the most viewed image of mine. The rapid increase in views gave me confidence to do more as I started loving the idea of sharing what I am eating but also giving viewers an idea of what a specific restaurant food looks like.

Freedom that I gained from Local Guide enables my self-confidence and eagerness do more. The world will never be the same without Local Guide, it is an essential part of our lives.

Thanks to Google Local Guide to give me Freedom to be myself…

What I suggest you is to replace your photo asap, @SyedSaad

According to the program rules the use of trademarked logos is reserved to Google. Do you have the permission for using it?
