I’ve been a local guide for over 8 months now. And to me the local guides program means sharing my experiences & findings with fellow travelers, across the globe . For good or for bad & getting to know the same from them…
I have been to & lived in foreign nations & know how helpful a review of any kind is. Especially to hear ( ) it from someone who’s been there before
. Be it trying a new food truck or going around the city or just knowing the local neighborhood. And that has been my endeavor here: to help people through my reviews & add any thing of value
which they might not find out easily. I feel so good when google regularly tells me that my pictures have been liked or my posts have been read. This program gives me a positive sense of contribution; one which adds to my confidence that I’ve helped few people today! It’s a great feeling!
I got introduced to Local guides by a friend & then I introduced it to 5 more friends. I think a community which is built by just word of mouth is such an incredible thing. Which is why I call this program as one which is from us & for us. Also, I try to keep my reviews & pictures genuine & not copy-pasted. I felt so good when one small business owner reached out to me thanking my review for their mickey mouse shirts saying many customers had come asking for it & that is now their hot-selling product! I hope that I can help more such businesses.
That is the power of local guides: you can discover the hidden, you can help discover the unknown.
I’ve found such beautiful places around through recommendations by fellow local guides like the Kosi riverfront in Jim Corbett, which I got to know after reading Pratim Banerjee’s review review. I visited the place with my friends & it was so magical: nature’s beauty at it’s best!
Through the Local guides connect 2020, I hope to meet local guides across continents & learn from them more about their part of this beautiful world. I always say, ‘if you can’t go to Spain, then meet a Spaniard’ . So, I hope that my will to see the world through the eyes of fellow local guides will be an experience of a lifetime.
