My story as an active Local Guide began about three years ago. I was immersed in this community by my boyfriend @Taras_Myshak , who was already a passionate fan of reviews on Google maps. He showed how cool it is to choose coffee shops, restaurants and hotels basing on good or bad reviews. And how nice it is to thank for the hospitality and delicious food with a positive feedback.
And now I want to tell you about a wonderful experience in the eternal city of Rome. In September 2017 our first joint trip happened to us. We went to Italy and spent some unforgettable days in it’s heart - in Rome. The apartment we rented in this city was located a little bit far from the bustling center, popular restaurants and crowds of tourists. We were too tired for long marathons in search of delicious pizza, so we decided to look for a decent trattoria in our area.
Also we noticed that there is a small pizzeria Mangianapoli in our house with many italians having a good time inside. We decided to find it on Google Map and see what visitors thought about the place. The reviews did not disappoint us. This pizzeria became our favorite place during our first stay in Rome thanks to delicious Italian food and wine, as well as helpful staff. This photo was made by one of the waiters, we love it because we do not often have common photos ( non-selfies) while traveling together. This restaurant has become special place for me also because this is where me and my boyfriend were called “innamorati” for the first time, in love ones. Our relationship was just at the beginning, so it was amazing to hear something like that.
After returning to Ukraine, we realized that we fell in love with Italy. This country is absolutely beautiful because of its people, its culture and of course, excellent food. The requirements for pizza and the restautants where it is cooked have become more strict, and we literally dreamed of having dinner in Mangianapoli . A year passed and we were back, booked the same apartment and prepared to visit our favorite place to eat in Rome. What a wonder! We caught the waiter’s glance and realized that he also recognized us. We decided to talk to him and tell that we remember him and our previous visit to Italy. Despite the language barrier, Luigi understood us, and we understood him. It’s very nice to know that you are remembered. In addition, we received a bottle of wonderful red wine as a gift and another good memory about this pizzeria.
Now I hope that we can visit Rome,Mangianapoli and many other not yet discovered places in the world again and soon, despite of pandemia and all its sad consequences.
