Local Guides contributions spotlight: Italy

Local Guides add immense value to Google Maps every day. Our series, Local Guides contributions spotlight, aims to bring you high-quality reviews and photos shared by Local Guides like you on the map. Each month, we focus on a new country to celebrate the diversity of our community. If you wish to see your or another Local Guide’s contributions featured here, make sure to share them with us using our nomination form.

This month, we visit Italy.

@Bobiisha : This month, we’re loving Local Guide @manulele81 's review of Azienda agricola Brandimarte Maurizio, a women-led organic farm in Norcia. In it, he says:

“Excellent farm with a small family-run dairy. The products are all to be tasted, and the staff is always available. The store is on the ground floor and is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Early in the morning and at sunset, you can also meet the sheep. For a guided tour, I recommend booking.”

Emanuele’s review is crisp and to the point. It’s a great example of how Local Guides can say a lot with a few sentences. There are helpful details about what to expect at the farm when it comes to facilities, accessibility, and experiences. He also included tips on how to enjoy your visit to the fullest: try all the products and book a guided tour.

We appreciate how Emanuele adds value for others to Google Maps one review at a time. It’s no surprise he was recognized in our nomination form!

Check out the full review and Emanuele’s photos here.

@TsekoV : Local Guide @plavarda took the stunning photo you see above at Villa Fogazzaro Roi in the Province of Como. And we love it!

The composition is perfect, and the wide angle gives us a lot to admire. The lake looks as if it has no end, and its brightness makes the shadows of the garden feel cool and refreshing. There’s also a pleasant contrast between the vivid greens and blues, with just a pop of earthy color from the pot at the front.

Paolo’s photo definitely makes us want to add this place to our bucket list. If you wish to make others eager to visit the spots you visit, too, look for contrasting colors and lights and shadows next time you take a photo for Google Maps.

Are you curious to learn more about Villa Fogazzaro Roi? Then don’t miss Paolo’s review.

Is there a Local Guide whose contributions you’d like to nominate for our series? Let us know by using our nomination form.

Thank you so much @TsekoV for putting my review on display. I really love going around and discover the small family-run companies that produce km0 and often I also take my friends to visit them when they are passing in Norcia.
Through a volunteer group we have also structured a small 20 km route that is good to do by bike and allows people to find:
peace, relaxation, physical activity and at the same time allows everyone to taste local products

To give everyone the opportunity to try the route, if you want to visit Norcia, I have also created the itinerary on My Maps.
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1epCf8xMKoXsnVGnc6BrdMlru6ot8wnD8&usp=sharing

A little more than 20 km of trail that will allow you to discover Norcia and some very special companies, always family-run.

Obviously, if a local guide wants to come to Norcia, I will be VERY PLEASED to accompany her on this itinerary or simply take the local guide to meet the local people. Contact me!

My congratulations also to @plavarda for the beautiful photo of the lake view!

Thanks to all Local Guides and moderators!

Emanuele

Thank you so much for this post, @TsekoV , and for featuring two Italian Local Guides that are an example for many and, well, also two personal friends.

I personally learned a lot from @manulele81 and his passion for always supporting the Local businesses. This was the focus of one of the first meet-ups where I joined him in Norcia with @AntonellaGr , for moving the small businesses, destroyed by the earthquake, on the temporary location.

@plavarda made me travelling with him and @mariacristinafossa around Italy and Croatia, but he was also the amazing Local Guide that, together with @davidhyno , guided me inside the beauty of Vicenza.

Braviiii !!!

Caro @TsekoV @Giu_DiB @ I am back from my daily excursion in the mountains of Valvenosta (Eastern Alps). We walked in places where the telephone signal arrives with great difficulty, a place off the beaten track by hordes of tourists. Therefore it was only towards evening that I had an inkling of what was happening here in LGC. Oh my god, I’m excited, are you talking about me about my travels, about my photos? Thank you all. I will have to look at all the comments and respond to them in between excursions. The burden of this Google mention is great and it spurs you to do better and better. I would also like to thank with a joyful video from these mountains,https://youtu.be/vBpD3vdFJP0
video games even of grandparents who remain young in spirit, a little less in body! Hello and heartfelt thanks to all. Bravo to @manulele81 @ whom I will definitely meet at the next meet up organized by @ErmesT

Dear @AdamGT thank you too much. thank you too much. I’am returned yesterday evening from my holidays week in ValVenosta, in north Italy, in the corner composed by 3 States borders, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. The Ortles is the highest peak, and need a good climbing capacity, it’s not for me! But there are many less people in this period than Dolomites, where in July and August, the caos caused by tourists not very lovers of mountains is evident, with ebike allover the tracks without respect of mountain and its inhabitants (the animals). It’s must an law to put order in this problem. Mountains is respect, silence, and isn’t a playpark. What do you think? It’s the same where you live? Ciao! Paolo.

Ciao @Giu_DiB Grazie infinite. Sono appena tornato dalla Val Venosta e sto rileggendo i graditissimi post degli amici LGC. Grazie anche a te per avermi seguito e per avermi insegnato parecchie cose!

Grazie ancora, con stima per il tuo lavoro,

Paolo
