Do you know about the incredible thing of the future? The thing is having an agent of change. And I am ready to take a part.
At the time, about three years ago, I found local guide when I was traveling alone to some places in Indonesia and Singapore. I always used Google Maps to guide me to a place that I wanted to reach. And certainly, I tried to shared my photos, made reviews, answered questions, and rated the places. I did it all with love. Even when I knew my photos to become popular (based on notification from Google Maps), it means that I had help people around with all the things I did. In the other hand, when I got training on my job as a technician of telecommunication company, I also captured all the places that I visited. Infact, the photos became most viewed on my timeline. I also always try increase my level as a local guide on Google Maps and share to my friends about local guides. Although most of them don’t know about it, but I still did it. Because, I believe that local guides (including me) do it all with love for helping people and for future.
As a local guide, when I found a new place that were not on Google Maps yet, I could edit the place so that all people use Google Maps can find the place. Moreover, when I become the first one that post photos on that place, I felt like very-very amazing, especially the place is very wonderful, and I felt like “found” a diamond in the deep sea. Like this place, that I became the first one to post photos: Taman Hutan, Bengkulu, Indonesia. And I have a duty as a local guide, because my city and around it still need to be updated.
I believe that Google Maps will be more powerful in our entire life. Certainly, with all local guide’s contribution. By this program, I believe that local guides should be agent of changes of the world for better future. Especially, for now and the shopisticated future. Everything will be internet-based. Just asking Google Maps for the place that we want to reach, so the people would know about the place, reviews, photos, and also asking questions. And the local guides as agents of change do it all for better future.
