Local Guides "Achievements": Beyond just Levels, points, perks, picture views, badges and Kudos

At times when we talk about achievements in this program, sometimes, we may tend to look mainly at these. What level we are at. How many points we have achieved. What perks did we received and what perks will come soon. How many pictures and video views we have received. How many badges are on our profile. How many Kudos we have gotten. etc etc. I can’t say if any of these metrics directly enrich our lives, though. Whilst all these metrics helps to track and encourage our on-going contribution, they are not the end-all, be-all. In fact, these numbers aren’t that important at all.

My greatest reward/achievement by far, for joining the Local Guides program has been all the many great friends I have made along the journey, locally and abroad. Some of them are as close as family to me as we walked through this contribution journey. All the wonderful memories of friends laughing and smiling during meet ups.Of us learning from each other. Of us sharing food and drinks. Of us walking through streets taking photos and all. I wouldn’t trade my friends for any number of points in the program.

A few of my most memorable photos of friends from Local Guides.

Glad to be here, and hope this program stays on for a very long time, and thanks to all the wonderful people I know from here…

You are absolutely, definitely right, @StephenAbraham

I’m used to say that the huge, unexpected extra benefits that we received at LG Summit 2017 is the priceless friendship that we were breathing there. The same wave of friendship that I was experiencing in our meetups (I will share the photos when at home).

The same (and unexpected) friendships that I’m experiencing here in Connect in this moment, and it is really surprising me, I wasn’t expecting so many wonderful reactions to a post about me

Thanks for sharing your feelings @StephenAbraham

I am with you
