I am Prakash Neupane, Level 5 Local Guide from Nepal. I discovered about the Local Guide Program around 2 years ago. The journey of Local guide has always been a fun-filled one for me. For me, local guide program is not just about posting pictures, reviews, lists etc. It is a platform that allows me to connect with all the other members of this beautiful wide family. Through the means of the local guide program, I have realized that I have grown so much. I have been able to continually develop my interest and skills in the field of photography, interpersonal communication, language skills and many more. It has definitely made me believe that inside me is an inborn photographer, an inborn writer and what not? Not just has it made me realize that, it has given me a platform to polish my skills so that I can bring out the best in me.
“Sharing is caring.” I believe that all of us have at least once in our life heard of this famous saying. This program has eventually helped me LIVE THIS SAYING. I write down reviews of places and think of how much of people I might have directly or indirectly helped with the help of something as simple as a ‘review. ’I have also been able to play a significant role in promoting local businesses. I believe that my reviews have helped other members as well as the audiences to make good choices.
The Local Guide program has now basically become a part of my life. Everywhere I go, I am always ready to capture the moment so that I remember it all my life. But sometimes, we tend to forget some of the moments that we have had in our life. Local guide program helps me to overcome those by sending me monthly reminders of where I had been and what I contributed during the month. I have now started taking it as my RESPONSIBILITY.
I am usually excited to Know how many people have read my reviews, the number of likes I got on my reviews, replies etc. Local guide program notifies me about the same and helps me in getting an idea of it.
Whenever I visit somewhere, I make myself known as a Level-5 Local guide. They ask me to review their place and have also offered me certain discount. This gives me a ray of satisfaction.
Not just this, the local guide program also offers us various badges when we accomplish certain task. So, it keeps me going. It has taught me that if I thrive, I can accomplish various tasks in life.
Last but not the least, it gives me a break from my monotonous life. We are all so packed in our daily schedule. And the local guide program allows me to have some FUN.
