The ages old story behind is Holika dahan and the great worshipper of Lord Maha Vishnu Prahlad. His father doesn’t want Prahlad to worship Lord Maha Vishnu so he asks his sister Holika ho had a boon that the fire can’t burn her to let Prahlad sit in her arms and burn him with her fire. Holika when she does so, gets her self fired and dies as the divine devotional powers of the Bhakti of Prahalada are so intense that Holika her self burnt and dies.
