Hello, my name is Aleksandr and about 3 years ago I opened world of Local Guides for myself for first time. Interesting fact is that I’d faced this wide world of recommendations, photos and ratings just few weeks before my trip to Bulgaria - and when I came to new country first thought that has reached my mind was “What should I visit?” and “Where can I find some tasty local food?”. Few days after I recognised - Google.Maps is one of the best sources to solve this questions - find photos, reviews, cons and pros for visiting some specific place. Important thing is that all this information are collected by different persons and I decided to join this little world of Local Guides.
Today I’m trying to review most of the places I’m visiting, just to keep maps updated, to share information with other users, to make their life little bit easier and better. Essential things here is that you can feel your impact for this people - see how many times your photo has been viewed, get “thank you” from strangers you’ve never met. Also some places visit their Google.Maps pages and read reviews - trying to make improve their service day-by-day, week-by-week.
Being Local Guide could impact you life significantly - you’ll make more photos and write review for many places you’re visiting. This habit’ll force you to improve language and writing skills, helps to rate the places from different angles of view and last but not least - create your own stories to remind some pieces of your past, read memorable texts about events you’ve participated in, check great photos of historical sight somewhere far-far away from you.
