I discovered Google local guide during my university days, the moment from which i developed an interest in contributing with some prominent places that were not on Google map so as to ease the route of transportation in my locality and to also save people who might found it of service from the stress of having to hire someone to show them the way. Countless number of people have expressed their gratitude to me whenever they come across my submissions on the map.
Services of local guides had helped me in several occasions in locating my way back home or to a certain destination i’ve never been to. I can remember one day in Kano( a city in Northern Nigeria), i lost my way such that i couldn’t locate my way back to the hotel i was lodging, suddenly, an idea popped my mind that i should use Google map to find my destination. That’s how i found my way back to the hotel.
A friend’s phone was stolen, so he came to me and ask for my service in locating his phone and its possible recovery. I employed the little knowledge of map that i have and we successfully track down the device and we subsequently informed authority in charge which led to the recovery of the phone. This scenario along with others, motivated me in giving more contribution to the Google map.
