Hi @RishamaSolomon , thank you for your tips. Please let me add another one, probably the most important: be helpful.
If our contributions are not helpful all the other tips are useless. Just for you to better understand what I mean, let say that I want to visit a place, I search in Google Maps and I found your posts in the place, where I can see:
13 selfies or group photos
3 very similar photo of the entrance
a photo posted twice where you see one person picking something from a car in front of the place
2 similar photos of the counter half hidden by a shelf
1 blurry photo of the counter
1 video of your friends toasting
2 videos of the external part of the place
3 similar photos of a person seen from behind next to the counter
and finally
1 blurry photo of a dish
The same is for all the places where you contributed in Maps.
Would you consider this helpful? Let say that, if I want to visit a place I would like to see how the place is, how the food is.
Please don’t confuse Google Maps, where we show “what a place is like”, with a social media like Instagram where we say “hey, I’ve been there”.
This is a big NO
Also, I am not sure to understand what you mean with “Engage with the community – respond to comments and help others with their questions!”. Can you explain?
What I mean when I say "Engage with the community, respond to comments, and help others with their questions!
Simply, the Local Guide Connect is a community that encourages engagement, be an active contributors, also a lot of people ask questions about the place reviewed a it is good to clarify them based on your experiences, as that will help them make informed choices.
