Today i am interested to share this, it’s some Tips. Today i am going to explain you how to take permission from the shop/mall owner’s, how to write reviews best, and more things i want to share with you may be it will helpful i think.
For this all we need to talk respectful with the owner’s.
How to get permission with the owner for adding His/Her place to the maps :- Sir/Madam We are/I am from “Local Guides” as We/I participated in Local Guides program and we do this, We/I add places, photos & etc to the maps. Sir/Madam We/I thinking to add your Shop/Mall to the maps of you agree I will shortly start my process (If he/she reject please come back don’t irritate him/her, if he/she accepted then ask permission for taking photo’s.)
How to get permission with the owner for adding photos :- (same process tell about you) Sir/Madam We/I thinking to add the Shop/Mall Photos to the maps i saw your place was empty there’s no photo’s added/some photos are there but We/I will take the best way photos as our Local Guide rules. (If he/she reject please don’t irritate hime/her.)
Somebody Asking about the local guides salary :- Sir/Madam the Local Guides program is to develop the maps helping people the Local Guides are never interested to the money/salary we will help all the people it’s our Hobby/Profesional.
How to add ratings without making any feeling for the owner’s :- Give the best rating as you how much liked it but please also think about the owner’s like if we give 1 Star rating they can feel sad soo once check it if you hated it then give 1 Star rating.
How to add review’s without making any feeling for the owner’s :- I have talked with a shop owner I said to him (He was friendly person to me.) Sir! Please improve the chutney taste it’s not nice for me. He told to me 1 person reviewed as Worst Chutney (He feeled soo sad.) Please try to avoid it and add like it’s ok but need to develop the chutney taste/shop/maintenance…etc.
NOTE : IF ANY BODY REJECTED OUR OFFER SO PLEASE COME BACK WE HAVE TO DEVELOP MORE PLACES.
This i created because today i have faced same problem if anything wrong with me please forgive. I am sorry if I am wrong.
I faced similar situation when I was asked not to take photo of a shop but when I explained that I am Google local guide the attitude of owner changed and he also told me to write reviews about his service
Yes @Nitinkapoor the owner happiness is next level when we ask for permission to add the place or photos but some members are reject our offer but we don’t need to care about it if we think about that 1 place we will lose soo many places happiness… Soo who rejected as we need to forget about him
Yes sir @MortenCopenhagen your correct but i have saying them this is not my job but we imagine it like our job and we help the people. We need to develop the map we can’t have any salary because we are not an google employee.
@MortenCopenhagen sir you are right, it should not sound like we are from Google, however can we say that we write reviews on Google and we are taking pictures for the reviews. Will that be okay ?
@Rakshi2 I think you meant well by sharing the guide, but if I can offer some suggestion, avoid the word “work”. Like you mentioned in your other point, Local Guides do this voluntarily. Work usually means getting compensation.
I think the best way to approach it is just to keep it casual. A few times in the past when I see a new restaurant opens up, I will go try it out, then before paying my bills, I would ask a few questions to the server (what’s the address? what’s your opening hours? etc). I would tell them the place is not currently on Google Maps, and I would like to add it so more people can find out about this place. That’s it. There was one time the owner was so interested about it, so I give more info (like how to claim the location, etc), but I usually just open with a simple conversation. Otherwise, unless the place has strict rule of not taking photos, I don’t even bother trying to talk to the owner (usually they’re pretty busy and have work to do) and just do my own thing.
Wording matters in this case. Rather than saying “we’re from Google Local Guides as our work to…” say something like “I participate in the Local Guides program, and this is what we do”
Reviews are a bit tricky. I’m not sure asking Local Guides to not give 1-2 stars is fair. There’s a reason that those numbers are included as part of the review ratings, so why restrict on others to not use it? As long as it’s a fair assessment, it’s fine to give 1-2 stars. For me, this is usually when I had a really bad experience with the business consistently, and I don’t want others to experience the same thing.
Hallo, @Rakshi2 , as @iyudhi says, “wording matters”, also in this post.
So I would not say that the ones you wrote are “rules” because they are not. You can consider them you personal “tips” or “suggestions” but not rules, as this can be misunderstood by new Local Guides.
And for sure we are Volunteers. That single word word can be used to explain in an easy way that (your text) “Local Guides are working to help the people on Google maps we are not working for the money & there is no salary for the Local Guides and the local guides never get any money & say him/her it’s my “Hobby/Profession” to help the people”
The full range of stars is from one to five. If a star exists in range it means it can be used, when needed. The point is not to “not sadden” a business owner. A negative review is perfectly legitimate if it is written honestly and respectfully, as it can help the business improve.
For this reason, as I have already told you, a review cannot be boxed into a master “in which to change some words” (as you asked previously). Each review is unique and reflects our experience of the place.
A few days ago @MortenCopenhagen suggested you to use this community for reading, not for finding someone that give you a shortcut. In Connect you can find an interesting series about How to write helpful reviews . It can be an interesting reading.
I know that your scope is to help, and this is good, but on the meantime you should be sure of what you write.
Now i maked some changes in that once please check it. “ErmesT Sir” i have told you in a another post once check it if you not seen that post. I said the one Tiffin Center (he knows to me he was friendly with) then i said to him i want to add the place to the maps. "He said" She’s character was not nice and it’s night time don’t go there she will ask 500 & full of question’s she will ask. What i need to do avoid that place? or when she’s husband there in that tiffin center then i can go?
First of all please do not edit a post without making clear that a post has been edited, e.g. EDIT: old text new text END EDIT, otherwise for the readers all the answer will loose the sense.
I can’t and I don’t want to enter in your personal relationship with a business. Regarding the subject of the post mentioned, you already had some clear answer in there
Sir there’s no relation the opposite tiffin center person said me like that what can I do can i add the place or not and the tiffin center from many many years and still running but not added in the maps. Sir if i don’t involve then who can help me? Please tell me sir about that.
