The journey as local guide started almost three years ago. I took picture of a local Sainsbury’s randomly and google maps asked me to share it, which i did. I got surprise when after few weeks google told me that my picture is a big hit and more than 50 thousand people has viewed it. That was the triggering point and i decided to upload pictures of different places and leave reviews. Whenever i visit any restaurant or place of interest, i always share my experiences to help others. Food is my second love:) and during my holidays trips i always find halal food restaurants and leave my feedback. Few months back google sent me a pair of socks as a gift to acknowledge my contributions as a local guide, its my favourite pair of socks now and i wish google should send me at least dozens of them in different colours and designs:). Recently my pictures has crossed 2 million views and i am now half way to achieve level 7 of local guide, which prequalifies me for the Connect Live 2019 going to be held in California. I am very hopeful that this very event will be turning point to level up my passion as a local guide. If i get the chance to participate, as a keen learner i will understand that how google map works and how can i make my contributions more impactful. The participants of Connect Live 2019 will share their experiences which will enable me to learn how to actively participate in local guides connect and meet ups. Lastly i will keep sharing my experiences through google maps so that people can get to know about restaurants, food quality, parking facilities etc. and what to expect before even visiting that place. I believe my selfless contributions makes me a proud local guide.
