I love adding places and images to Google maps as it helps others to find place easily with proper information. Being born in a developing Country, it’s hard to get up-to-date information from internet. Google maps solves the problem.
As a local guide, I try to cover information as much as possible. When I go to a restaurant, I check the reviews from Google maps which help me to choose where to go and where not to.
I still remember, when I felt love with Google places. It was back in 2012, I was travelling to a new place, alone. I was a school student back then. It was around noon time. Nobody was around, and I couldn’t asked for help. I open my Google maps, try to find my destination and voila! I felt safe and secure as I knew where to go.
Local guide program is a nice program to build a community who loves to roam around and put information to the right place. I have some friends from the local community and sometimes we went to visit new places together and help each other with proper tips and suggestions how to improve our contribution.
