Does anyone know if there are any perks for being a local guide, other than adding information for others to see. I am a level 6.

@user_not_found Local Guides is a voluntary program with no financial reward. However, once a while, there could be small perks provided to help motivate contributors. Sometimes perks could be announced in LG Connect, so stay active here. And sometimes announced through email.
To set email notification for perks, contributions, product updates etc, head to https://maps.google.com/localguides/home/settings
And you can have a look at this post also which many of the current/previous perks, you can check the details under each link and note the expiry/end date of each
And, there are always Local Guides achievement badges to be obtained and unlocked.

@user_not_found Have patience . You would be getting different perks from Google. As your level increases you would be having more chance of enjoying the perks…

As stated by the Google rep, there are no financial perks… however from time to time we do get free items i.e. discounted movie tickets, free postcards (actually 1 free postcard)… so just a few things but the greater good is the ability to share information in our community and make a lasting impact.
