Local Guide or Local Cook?

Hello everybody,

As a Google guide, I want to tell you about the most interesting thing I have ever done…

I studied university with my family. To date, I have had no culinary experience except for a few minor things. Frankly, I like to eat, not to cook. ? (I respect those who do it is endless…)

By going to a business that I met and added to Google Maps, I thought cooking in their kitchen would be the most interesting thing I could do as a local guide. So I started preparations for the Connect Live 2020 application.

I took my breath in the Avocado cafe, which is located at Anadolu University, acting with the motto “Healthy food”. The weather was partly cloudy, with a slight breeze. A large number of people were sitting in the open-air seating area of the cafe, chatting with each other and eating the unique tastes prepared by Avocado and drinking their tea. The owner of the venue, Bircan Hanım, and her cook, Hayriye Hanım, welcomed me and my friend (thank you, Tayyar Sayer, who took the task of shooting!). Their warm welcome was enough to ease my excitement, albeit a little.

We went to the kitchen section and wore my apron…

THERE IS GRANOLA BAR IN THE MENU!

All materials were prepared on the table beforehand. I started the preparation under the leadership of Chef Hayriye and Bircan. First, I crushed the bananas thoroughly with a fork and brought them to a puree. Then we poured a lot of oats on top and mixed with tahini and molasses and mixed well.

Meanwhile, customers line up in front of the cafe to order, asking questions about what we did. Bircan Hanım, “Our friend has a project, we try to help him.” He was showing to the people that both sides were doing this job with pleasure. Anyway, I proceeded and mixed it thoroughly. Until it has the proper consistency…

WITH PACKAGE AND SERVICE!

Our special mixture in the bowl was ready! Bircan showed how to layout baking paper on the baking tray and how to pour and spread the mixture. Although I had difficulty at first, I was successful! Everything was very enjoyable.

Then I put the granola bar I prepared on the tray into the refrigerator. When it waited for a long time and reached a solid consistency, my work was ready to be eaten!

LAST OF ALL …

This business, which serves dozens of people every day and does its job well, is sure that it is very important for everyone. Thanks to this project of Google, I think that quality places, healthier and cleaner foods can reach people in a much easier way and impartially. Which is so …

As a new user/guide in the app, I did something that seems simple for most people but quite crazy for me and I also enjoyed it. I say goodbye to you, our valuable local guide family, with a few photos and a short clip that reflects these good times, and I hope to meet you in Connect Live 2020.

With respect and love,

Hello @ardakun , you might have wondered what happened to the first posts you wrote, as those all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, they were accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released them and merged them with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first posts is now added as a comment to your other post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

Dear Sir @JanVanHaver ,

I am so confused, what am I doing wrong and why am I looking spam? :disappointed_relieved: I am so scared of this because I applied connectlive2020 with this post’s link. there was no problem with the application, right?

Thank you for helping me :slightly_smiling_face:

The platform can be a bit confusing indeed @ardakun - you’re not the only one facing these problems. In this particular case it was probably the fact that your profile here is relatively new + the fact that you made edits to a recently published post. That combination is something spammers might also do, so the spamfilter was a bit too zealous…
