I discovered it late in 2015 that this could make a difference and since then I have been contributing. I go to places, I click pictures that really matter and then do write a review about it. Local Guides has grown in folds and I did see I had motivated a couple of my friends to go ahead and contribute too.
The philosophy I follow is, adding information One click, one review that can help people decide whether to go ahead and either spend their money, time and energy on a place or not.
A great upside to the review I read is the ones that come from the experience of the people who have actually been to a place. The way they describe and share their experience helps a lot of people out there to make a right decision to go somewhere. Personally, it has helped me and mark my words when I went against the reviews and did visit the place I had the worst time of my life(not applicable to all places).
