Wow, thanks for sharing, @JTD ! Can I ask if you have a favourite city in Taiwan after having lived there for more than two decades?

I’ve been to Taipei, Taichung, Hualien, and would like to know where else you’d recommend! I particularly like the vibes in Taichung, and Taiwanese are the friendliest!

P.S I notice you have upload a lot of pictures here on Connect and while we love seeing photos, it may be good to note that there is a photo limit here on Connect (currently 1,000 photos). If you reach this limit, you’ll have to delete older images before uploading new images. So we recommend — if you have many photos — to link us an album on Google Photos or anywhere else you have your photos stored. :slight_smile:

Dear @JeslynL ,

My favourite city, large town and island in/belonging to Taiwan are Tainan City, Taidong and Green Island.

Tainan City

The oldest city founded by the Dutch connected to PengHu Island and a small town in New Taipei City called PinLing, via the tea trade.

The new PinLing Tea Museum is a “must see” .

Taidong City

This is really a large town on the South East coast, below HuaLien. Beautiful scenery, beaches, cycling tracks, walks and fruit farms.

Green Island

A Ferry ride across from Taidong. Great beaches, snorkelling, scuba diving. Rent a scooter and ride. A trip to the old prison is worthwhile.

Dear @JeslynL ,

Your PS Note refers.

Thank you for the advice about photos. I really do have lots of photos. I am just not sure how to set up and reference them so that they will be connected to the relevant posts.

Kind regards,

@JTD

That is really nice, @JTD !

Chinese is considered as one of the most difficult text to read and write!

Take a bus from XinDian MRT station to Wulai (about 60 NTD) a banana and water would be helpful too. Leave the bus station and just start jogging. OR ride your motor bike out there park along the side of the road, jog as far or as for as long as you want. Flat runs or very steep, your choice :slight_smile: Watch the videos for ideas and views of the beauty of the scenery

Photos taken while running/jogging in WuLai

Looks like you managed to figure out linking photo albums to the post, @JTD , which is great! :smiley: Of course, feel free to insert photos in your post as you see fit but just remember the 1,000 photos limit. :confused:

Green Island!!! I learnt about it through a book titled Green Island by Shawna Yang Ryan. Oh yes, I forgot that I went to Wulai too, specifically to the natural springs. Heh, now I’ve heard from a local and I guess I can’t be more ready!

Anyway, 你的中文能力太令人羨慕了!佩服!

When are booked your flight to Taiwan, just let us know, @JeslynL !

TW LGs will make sure you always run out of time.

@JeslynL Hi, Still need to work on the video update. Getting there though. WuLai has some really beautiful forest and stream walks that most people never get to see. Very quiet and peaceful. It requires a longish walk from the waterfall or, if you ride a motor bike, about 10 minutes from the waterfall.

Have fun next time you visit Taiwan. Thanks for the help.

Kind regards,

@JTD
