Rice, egg, green onion, cilantro, fish sauce, lime and a protein of choice. For Thai fried rice, it is a special taste with the added cilantro, lime and fish sauce that makes it truly unique. All of that together and pan fried to perfection with a little oil. Just enough to show smalls bits of black color on the perfectly fried rice.
Aloha!, สวัสดี! , Hello!, こんにちは! Iaorana! I’m Shane, a photographer of Tahiti and Hawaii who just moved to Bangkok recently. I love photography (especially island photography), cooking, surfing and travel. Two of my passions are coming together here on Local Guides Connect. With this being my first post. I’m a veteran of the old Google+ and I’m here to share with you my local neighborhood eats of the Yan Nawa area of Bangkok.
Recently, I had the delight to taste the food of a local Khao Pad food stall, R. Khao Pad Chan 42. I was surprised that no one has posted this place on Google Maps but that gave me the opportunity to help showcase some good comfort food. Located on the bust street of Soi Chan 42, you can find this place by looking for the pink umbrella and pink chairs that pair with the pink plates they serve the Khao Pad on. It’s right before you get to 7-11.
The specialty of this place is Crab Fried Rice. I had the chance to have the Pork Fried Rice as well. Both were delicious but the specialty Crab Fried Rice is worth the extra ฿10. It’s priced at฿50 (less than $2) vs. the other fried rice choices at ฿40. I highly recommend adding extra chili lime fish sauce that sits on the table. You won’t regret it. Be sure to not forgot to squeeze some lime juice on it too! If you’re in the area of Yan Nawa near BTS Saphin Taskin Station, try it out. The fried rice varieties include crab, pork, shrimp, mackerel, squid, and Chinese sausage. The specialty Crab Fried Rice had perfectly cooked fresh crab that was not overdone. The only thing that would makes this even more perfect would be a Unfortunately, the alcohol ban is still in effect You can now find R. Khao Pad Chan 42 on google maps. Bon appetite!
