I love to share local insights on Google maps and give the reader a sense of the insider’s view. I do not post as a tourist, but rather as a local who understands the regional tastes and what a visitor might find most rewarding about the nuances of local businesses, food and experiences. I am a total “foodie” and love to share details about food and drink in that context. However, I am also about honesty and giving feedback to small businesses to help them understand how they com across to clientele and use that information to hopefully improve their products and services.
The area in which I live is outside of a major city, but it is definitely a food and wine destination for tourists. We are a small community with small businesses and fleshing out details for visitors adds another dimension to the businesses making the personal, more interesting, and gives a more complete image of what they might expect. It helps the visitor better find things they would like.
I detest mis-information and inaccurate information and anything I can do to help bring out truth and detail, I am thrilled to be a part of.
Since I enjoy wine tasting I also like to give visitors a sense of the vibe of a local winery. When the environment is inviting, snobby, comfortable, etc. I also tie that in with the quality of the wines and how they share the experience of their wines and locale.
