Living in the rhythm of nature

The Distance between Ramang-Ramang Karst and Makassar City is only about 1 hour driving in normal condition traffic. Makassar City is a capital of South Sulawesi Province where modernization living already take place since Dutch colonial era.

Commonly, modernization is come up together with industrialization and built up area for residential, commercial area, education, health facilities, transportation and many other activities to support the city.

The Karst region of the Ramang-Ramang as if not affected by modernization that has lasted a long time in the its surrounding city.

Local people here keep maintaining the balance of ecosystem. They are living in harmony between lake, river, field rice and karst. Their local wisdom make them to sustain rice production to secure our food and also the environment. According to Statistics Indonesia 2015, this region produce rice 38,194 tons. It is the 2nd larger rice producer at Maros Regency.

Because of them we can still enjoy a great beautiful landscape at Ramang-Ramang Karst until today. I am learning from you how to live in the rhythm of nature.
