For me, all I want to do is share and being a local guide, I can easily do that with a CLICKETY-CLICK of a button. When people travel, time is limited. People have the desire to see the best parts, therefore the quickest way to find the best travel destination is through us, the community.
I am in search every day looking for hidden gems and I have to say it’s something that I desire to keep doing till the end of my life.
As I started to share my adventures on local guides, I noticed how much it connected the whole community into one. I went back to the hair salon that I reviewed a month ago and had never seen my hairdresser so happy. She expressed how she loved the review and that made me realize, not only is it helpful for the customers, but it also is beneficial to every worker in the industry. With her being happy, I realized typing even a small comment can really help inspire and encourage people to keep doing what they are best at.
As a foreign looking girl living in Japan, I realized there is a vast gap between Japanese people and foreigners. Through observing the country, there seems to be a cultural difference, a contrast in personality, and a homophobic scene. I dislike the idea of a divided community, as being half Japanese, I have the desire to bridge the gaps between the two. Therefore, It makes it hard for foreigners to be able to enjoy the unique, authentic parts of Japan. My goal is to be able to share as numerous local places in Japan for tourists to get a sense of the local life, as well as get the most adventure in Japan.
Google Local guides have made it possible for life to be spicier and a place where we can all thrive and support one another. We can now tackle the world and be able to enjoy living in the moment, rather than stressing over the numbers and directions. Life has simply just become easier and with just a few words, you can really make a difference. My mission from now on is to make Japan to be the most accessible, especially by the time when the Olympics happen!
