Living in a natural Fruits Orchard- the marriage of Man & Nature

  • Just take a look at all of that Greenery and imagine sitting at one of those tables and being served African palm wine and a nice soup

  • Close your eyes and imagine walking on that power in an atmosphere that is heavily scented with the Cashew fragrance…

Earlier this year, I moved to the country’s Capital; Abuja.I don’t know if you have ever experienced what it feels like to live in a Fruit orchard;

  1. The fragranced walkways
  2. The cool evening breezes
  3. The abundance of fruits; in season and out of season
  4. The shedding of leaves, the sprouting of new ones and so on

Sometime ago, a long time ago, I visited Florida, you did not have to be told that; “Florida was the orange city of the USA!” Like; people even had the orange on their car plate numbers.

If ever people living in the Federal Capital territory; Abuja were to incorporate something on their number plates, it will be Cashews! :astonished:

There are Cashew plants on every living space; on the hills, the mountains, by the road sides, undeveloped land sites, etc!

There are other fruits here like; Mango (of different species! of a fact, it is the Cashew’s running mate), Jackfruit, Pawpaw, oranges (all species; tangerine, grape, lemon, sweet orange, etc), Pineapple, Banana, Plantain, guava, Pear, etc.

The Marriage of Man and Nature

So, there was this beautiful bar I visited; La Vida Local, that incorporates nature, mainly the Cashew plants into the liveliness of the bar and called it; The Green Arena of the Bar, the Cashew trees has all sorts of paintings and graffiti on them.

It was such a beautiful place that instantly lifted my mood!

Is there a dominant fruit species in the area you live?

Have you had a Cashew?

The red is the sweetest by the way, the nut left after the succulent part is eaten is processed as cashew nuts.

That’s an incredible looking area, @Ewaade_3A .

Never in my life would I have imagined this is what a cashew looks like before it ends up roasted/steamed, salted, and mixed with other nuts in the trail mix I buy. :exploding_head:

I’m shook now. I want a juicy cashew apple, not the discarded leftovers!

Wow! I need to share more pictures with you then!

I have not had the cashew in over 2 or 3 decades if my memory serves me until I came to Abuja!

It’s everywhere!

And I love how this bad have integrated the Cashew into their Bar arena instead of cutting down the trees…

@JustJake

You can see the effects of recycling :recycle: (the tyres used) and ecological preservation. It’s an amazing green

space

  • you can literally take a bite off this
