@Kwiksatik @clydeafornia
Thank you everyone who was able to attend the second gathering of the “Living and Working in Bellevue” meetup! It was great meeting new friends and finding people who are interested in connecting, doing good, and having local adventures. The beer at Bellevue Brewing was quite good. I especially enjoyed the Black IPA (aka Cascadian Dark Ale).
We will meet the first and third weeks of each month. The first and third Tuesday seemed to work for everyone, but that is not set in stone. Our schedule may change if the group wants to go for a hike or enjoy some other activity which can’t easily be done after work OR if a business cannot accommodate us… All future meet-ups will be posted right here in Google Local Guides Connect.
The February meet ups will be a dine around and (tentatively) an accessibility walk. Again, watch for final dates right here in Google Local Guides Connect. Our group name may change, but we will publish under the name of “Living and Working in Bellevue” at least one more time, with the new name being announced in the notes.
We have a list of both indoor and outdoor activities with some future events specifically designed to be family friendly. Attendees are welcome to submit ideas. With so many great ideas, we may not be able to get to them all. What will help your idea move toward the top of the list is to volunteer to lead your activity. I will be happy to coordinate with group members to drive cool events. Some ideas recently added to our list include:
- Gaming Night at Mox Boarding House
- Fly Fishing
- Archery Night
- Cooking Classes
- Photo Walk
As you can see from this short list, our activities will be varied and fun!
Finally, as part of the Google Local Guides program, be sure to add pictures, reviews, comments and tips to Google Maps. As was pointed out last night by @Kwiksatik , we can help promote those businesses we visit. It doesn’t take long, so please take a moment to give a positive shout out to the businesses we visit. (If you have feedback for improvement for a business, please remember to be constructive and kind.) Look for a couple of pics from our visit to Bellevue Brewing at the end of this post.
My apologies for the long message, but I wanted to let everyone know about our growing gathering and what we have in store for the future. I will email a copy of this post to everyone on our list. Finally, thank you for your patience. New groups need to be predictable but flexible until we find our way.
I look forward to seeing out at our next event.
Stephen
