Lively on weekdays, and calm on weekends – A Sunday morning tour of Sussex University Campus

Hello Everyone,

For the friends at Localguideconnect, I am Saeed Memon originally from Karachi Sindh but currently studying at the University of Sussex. Previously I was the co-host of @KashifMisidia 's State Challenge #AmazingSindh State Challenge, which was initiated by @Denise_barlock.

So today, after a long time of a tough study schedule, I’m back at Localguides’ home and want to share about the place, where I have literally fallen in love with. Yes, that is marvelous and wonderful University of Sussex, wherein I have witnessed hundreds of sunrises and sunsets, and all dived into books. But today I am going to show you what it looks like on an early Sunday morning. So come, and let’s walk along with me.

The University of Sussex campus is a bustling hub of academic activity during the week, but on Sunday morning, the campus takes on a whole new atmosphere. The stillness and calmness of the campus provide a serene and peaceful environment that is perfect for a morning stroll.

As you walk around the campus, you’ll notice the huge buildings of the Library, Arts department, Falmer, Attenborough, and others including my alma mater Institute of Development Studies (IDS). These buildings which are normally bustling with students and staff during the week, stand silent and still on a Sunday morning. The empty walkways and corridors give you a chance to appreciate the impressive architecture of these buildings, which have become iconic landmarks of the campus.

The pathways around the campus are adorned with Daffodil, Jonquil, and other spring flowers, which add to the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings. The greenery and the colours of the flowers provide a refreshing change from the grey and concrete surroundings of city life, and it’s a great way to always remain reconnected with nature while being at the campus.

The campus is also home to a range of sculptures and artworks that are scattered throughout the grounds. These pieces of art provide a unique and interesting element to the campus, and on a Sunday morning, you can appreciate them in peace and solitude.

One of the highlights of the campus is the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). A magnificent building with impressive architecture is home to hundreds of International students who quench their thirst for knowledge and research around development studies. The building is adjacent to the Main Library on one hand, and it has small patches of greenery and walkways to Stanmer Park on the other hand. You can take a leisurely stroll around a short way behind the Jubilee building, and within a couple of minutes, you will find yourself in the woods and can rest in the lap of nature with a peaceful and serene view of huge Stanmer Park.

The calmness of a Sunday morning on the University of Sussex campus is a beautiful and serene experience. The stillness of the buildings, the greenery, the flowers, and the artwork all combine to create a tranquil and peaceful environment that is perfect for a morning walk. So, next time you are looking for a peaceful and refreshing Sunday morning, head to Stanmer Park through the University campus and enjoy the serene beauty of this magnificent ambiance.

Thank you for time and reading. I will be writing soon about the fascinating city of Brighton, its beaches and city life. Please stay tuned :slightly_smiling_face:
