Life is a celebration and we need to choose to keep it so. This instills the excitement in making every moment worth living, come what may! Being a Local Guide, it is worth reinventing the happy-go-lucky attitude to bring out the best in us.
This perspective ushers in the zeal and zest to look for happiness at every new place that we go to and any new food that we taste. This never-say-die attitude works best at all times - for you AND for the others. The right way to channelize this perennial positive energy is to share: It is a form of service that is unique as it is mutually beneficial- the giver gets the sense of reaching out and the receiver finds a virtual companion in the life’s journey, a friend-in-deed.
Sounds too Utopian? It actually is not . The challenge is in keeping the child in us ‘alive’. This triggers a sense of thrill, breathes in freshness in the outlook and clicks the Refresh button every time the monotony sets in, all because the Local Guides see the world through their eyes, yes, for others.
But how to do it the first time, every time?
Step 1: Take over the life in your own hands (and watch the fun - and that is guaranteed).
Step 2: Even at the most critical phase, look for that little element that would make you smile, and grab it.
Step 3: Cling on to it and gradually rope in more of such usually-ignored pleasures.
Step 4: Remember to smile often. Laugh at the smallest opportunity (not insensibly, that’s understood!).
Step 5: Reward yourself with crazy gifts - even a weird & funny profile pic will do, if that can pour in comments with 'lol’s .
Step 6: Make this a habit - consciously, to begin with, till it becomes a way of life. Your life will be filled with happy people, who love you for what you are. Anytime is a safe time to start life afresh. The assured results are amazing: good health ( read as ‘No Diabetes’, ‘No Hypertension’!!), good times.
The great Indian epic Mahabharatha, asserts that the best gift (dhaan) that one can offer to others is happiness. This is translated aptly by Abbe Pierre’s quote: A smile costs less than electricity, but gives more light. If you wish to make the world a better place to live, start with your smile. The pepped up brain learns to focus on what is yet-to-be-discovered. There is a sea of population waiting to enjoy what you just discovered through the Google reviews, pics and videos!
Let’s celebrate life, because we, the Local Guides, are torch bearers of the Society.
