List challenge: tell people about accessible places in your city

Last September, we challenged Local Guides to add accessibility info on Google Maps. You responded in a huge way, sharing more than 51 million answers to help people with wheelchairs, families with strollers, and anyone else with mobility needs get around their cities.

Now we have a new challenge for you: use your local knowledge to create lists of the accessible places in your city.

Want some inspiration? Here are some examples of lists that could help lots of people get around:

7 Wheelchair-Accessible Music Venues in New York

10 Accessible Restaurants in Mumbai

Wheelchair-Accessible Beaches near L.A.

Museums in Berlin for the Sight-Impaired

Accessible Tourist Attractions in Madrid

If you have an Android phone, you can add comments to each location (here’s how). You could use this space to say whether each places has features like wheelchair-accessible parking, seating, or restrooms.

Be sure to add #LocalGuides in the description of your list, and leave the link below so we can find it. Then, make sure to follow us on Google+, Facebook, and Twitter — we might share your list!

Hi @kmajewski Thanks for sharing this kind of challenge. I’m super excited about it. Can’t wait to start creating list of accessible places on map. With this more accessible options will be available to select from, and people can easily make decisions in the moment of unknown.

Hallo @kmajewski ,aku merespon tantanganmu. Tempat yang dapat diakses semua orang tersedia dalam taman di pusat kotaku. Pengguna kursi roda atau kereta anak2 bisa menikmati keindahan taman.

Hi, @kmajewski

I have added accessibility info on Google Maps with MyMap and Streetview and made the post on Travel and Advice as below.

World in 360: Introducing the hiking trail & wheelchair accessibility.

I think in this case MyMap is more useful than Lists. I certainly have made some lists. It is good option.

MyMap

Would you please replace the screenshot of MyMap in the post above into the embedding code?

It must be more accessible.

Thanks a lot

@kmajewski , thanks for sharing this idea. In many developing countries, it is hard to find a accessible place since the awareness issues. However, several places have been the good examples of accessible place. I will try to list some!
