I wasn’t able to attend to attend the meet-up organized by @KarenVChin and @Kwiksatik on lists. But I have checked the wonderful meet-up recap which speaks intensively about creating list and it’s importance. I have accepted the challenge.
Indeed, list is a great way to easily classify particular POI, businesses, accessibility supported locations, lifestyle, hangout, and many more under a particular register. Also adding a bit of spice to the place’s description.
Here is a list I created and publicly published on kid friendly places in Kaduna, Nigeria.
I love spending time out with kids be it anywhere playing games and having nice time. Also sometimes teaching them little creatives like painting, boxes wrapping, and playing trivia cracks and quizzes. I grew up as the last sibling and never had a younger one to play with. When my siblings had kids, I always take them as my younger siblings (small uncle) haha. Always spending time with them and taking them out.
The absolute best part and cheat of spending time with kids that aren’t yours is that you always take them back to the owners when you’re tired.
In this little endeavour, I have gained so much knowledge about kids play areas, parks, and outdoor activity venues. I didn’t even think twice about when it came to creating list on them.
Thanks you! No, this wasn’t my first list. I made some list in 2019 which was for CL19 application. I have about 7 lists with only 3 publicly published with more on the way.
I’m really glad my little list here could be an inspiration to someone out to recreate. Thank you, i would follow and check them out as you publish whenever i am chanced in Abuja.
This is a great post that’s worth commenting about thanks for sharing it with us. Am sure they are places you have visited and enjoyed yourself. I love the photos too nice shots. On my next visit to Kaduna it will be a treat to visit these places you have posted maybe with you as well if possible
Have a good week ahead and special greetings from Ghana 🏾
That’s a wonderful list which will be really helpful for families with kids, even I made a similar list highlighting the community parks from my neighborhood @Nuhuu
Hey @Nuhuu , it’s interesting to find recommendations from lists made by Local Guides. I’ve seen your list and I see you have special interest in making sure parents and outdoor enthusiasts find kid-friendly play spots in Kaduna. That’s fantastic. You might also add more descriptions to the other places. Well done and keep doing more!
That’s really great that we’re trying to make a list of condensed information that’d benefit people from the community and visitors. Are you looking forward to make more or you will just keep updating this one?
No child or parent need to be stuck with only one or two outdoor place with their kids when they can use this list to explore many more options around them. Thanks for the suggestion brother, i only left them blank because there are two which i haven’t been yet but i will make sure I check them out and share my experience.
Unfortunately, Nigerian uncles/aunties smartphone usage is confined to a particular know-how which google maps isn’t one of them . But with it being shaped now into a place full of useful data i’m confident about it’s growth but still baby steps now. Thanks for your kind words, really heart-warming!
