Hello Everyone, my name is Anuj Bansa. I have visited the Lingaraj Temple recently. And let me take you also to an exclusive tour of Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar through my post. In this post, I will tell you important information about this temple, Rules, and regulations to visit the temple, the best time to visit, how to reach? and where to park your vehicle? Lingraj means king of Lings. It is made up of red stone and the architecture represents the Kalinga Dynasty. The special fact about this temple is that the SHIV LING in this temple is different from other shiv lings. The height and the width of the shiv ling here are equal. And usually, in a normal shiv ling, the height is always more than the width. But the shiv ling here is in the square form. And that’s special. This temple was constructed in the form of Deula Structure which means 4 important towers. No-1 Viman where the main shrine is situated. No-2 Jaggmohan where pilgrims gather to prey No-3 Naata Temple where the Lingraj fair is inaugurated. No-4 Bhog Mandap where bhog (Prasad) is prepared.
In addition to this, The Lingraj temple is surrounded by temples of 150 gods and goddesses. This temple so massive that it is also a famous tourist spot of Bhubaneswar. A very big fair is inaugurated Every year on Shiv Ratri here. Which is attended by approx. 2 to 2.5 lacs pilgrims.
The timings are from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. Lingraj temple is just 15 to 20 mins away from the airport. You can also visit this temple if you have transit at Bhubaneswar airport. There is no entry ticket to Lingraj Temple its free if cost. There is never a cost to enter a temple. You can donate whatever you like. The parking of the Lingaraj Temple is in front of the temple. The best way to reach here is in your own car or a taxi.
