I have been thinking about writing this post for about a year and 3 months by now on How I discover and embraced Local Guides Connect community. And, today I am thrilled to write this post which is propelled by the following posts by our dear friends:

Exactly about a year and three months ago, I received an email on 14-March-2023 from Google Local Guides about ‘you’ve earned a reward’. Believe in me, I did not had any clue about this reward neither I was expecting anything like this. So, firstly I thought, this is a SPAM mailer as it was asking for some personal details while redeeming the given code. I started searching on the web about the merit and genuineness of such rewards. While searching on the web, to my wonder I landed to Local Guides Connect community. Since I did not had any idea about existence of such a wonderful community around, at first I was not comfortable to join this community but followed and read through some of the posts related to Google Maps and the LGC. I realised that lot of great stuffs I am missing due to my unawareness of such a great community. More so, I was deprived of the wonderful friends like you. Thus, finally I joined this amazing community on 26-March-2023 while I was contributing on Google Maps since June, 2017.
On April 2nd, 2023, I received a gorgeous Limited Edition Google Maps Pin with a congratulatory card which is captured in the cover photo. It was such a great feeling to have this Pin in possession, that can not be expressed in words. But yes, the effect is quite visible in terms of Quality and Quantity of contributions. The number on the cover page portrays the quantity as how I have moved from 33,541 points to 1,34,235 points in a year and three months.
It is not about a big gift or a perk but this is all about the Token of Appreciation to recognize the contributor. Whether we agree or Not, such small things certainly do big wonders! And, I take this as a good gesture from Google. It’s a gesture which matters not always the physical reward.
It’s the Power of this Community which motivate us to explore and share the beauty all around us besides the experience, knowledge and wisdom.
Having said that, I am dedicating my discovery and embracing Local Guides Connect Community to Limited Edition Google Maps Pin.
I have tried to pen down my thoughts as I feel within heart to convey my gratitude to Google Maps and Google Local Guides team.
