I love beaches, I love the fun filled atmosphere, I love the sound of waves crashing and the sight of people enjoying the beach makes it more fun. The Seme beach in Limbe, Cemeroon was a sight to see, different from any beach I have been to, the sand is BLACK. I want to assume it is because of the volcanic Cameroon mountain that last erupted in 2012. Locals believe the black sands have medicinal properties, lots of people where applying the sand on their body.
Limbe beach is about 45 minutes drive from Douala, I used the local taxis called ‘Clando’ because they are not painted in the regular yellow colored of taxis in Douala and the driver was pretty fast. The people in Limbe are bilingual speaking both English and French. The Limbe wildlife Center and Limbe Botanic Gardens are places to check out.

@MoniV I was just unfortunate to visit on a rainy day, hence the dark clouds. I traveled there, this was my second visit to Limbe beach. I think, the black sands absorbed all the light making the pictures look dark.
Thank you for sharing these amazing photos with us. I love the white and black effects on the photos with the sea, the sand and the sky, it gives another level to the picture.
I am sharing with you a photo that I took several years ago on a beach in Agadir.
