Today I got a chance to capture some beautiful moments of thunder strike.
As I was looking outside at the evening sky, it suddenly turned violent and random striking begin to light the sky.
I quickly got my cellphone and started capturing shots and videos. I didn’t have a stand such as a tripod-like to hold my device but I did my best to keep balance. It was a really beautiful experience.

@DanniS Thanks a lot. I used my cellphone which has a normal camera. These are just snapshots from video actually.

Amazing lightning pictures @suresh1930 . The colour of thunder is pink,that is different usually, it is white or light blue.

Actually the color of lightening depends upon various conditions as in my case it was just sunset and reflections of purple color were still visible in the sky which caused the shot from my camera to appear purple or violet.
Lightning traveling through open-air emits white light but can appear in different colors depending on local atmospheric conditions. Distant lightning can appear red or orange the same way the setting sun does, due to moisture, haze, dust, etc in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
