Light at the end of a tunnel

Hi, first I would like to introduce myself, my name is Joze Zabkar I’m from Slovenia and I’m 35 years old. In my life I always seek new opportunities and experiences, I like to visit new places and a photography is a hobby for me since childhood. I have worked in many trades from being a chef, forester, electrician and most recently roofer. My work included traveling most of the time, moving from city to city I always make a lot photos. Attention to details is my superpower and I always aim to carefully capture the meaning of a place on the photo. About three years ago, While I was on assignment in England, google maps invited me to check in at Shorts Building Shortstown Englandand to publish a photo of a place, this is where and how I have gotten involved in google maps. Earlier this year, while I was staying in Antwerp, Belgium, I had a change of heart and I was searching for a new life,… I wanted to make a difference, I have decided that I will make some kind of guide of integration for immigrants. While I was making a guide a lot of questions had opened, I almost got lost, At that time the invitation for aplication to attend connecting live 2020 came in, just in the right time :slightly_smiling_face: The Local Guides program mean’s to me, to able to explore new places, try new things, make new photos, writing a review and edit information on the map. It also enables me to contribute to the maps and add value to the map and places I have visited. Being a local guide enables me to help others to navigate and to make plans for the future. I’m happy to be a part of this community because I strongly believe if you help others not to get lost, help them navigate, you make a better world, the world I want to live in.
