Devoting to discovering those undiscovered in my life, doing all my effort using words, photos, even videos to describe what I’ve experienced, actively exploring the world for pleasures instead of awaiting until someone bring them to me, and once getting motivation, I’ll never find myself excuses to drag my feet. That is, Local Guides program’s not just an app function or an account privilege. It’s a whole new life style.
I’m A-Kwon, Local Guide from Taiwan.
Once a homebuddy, dealing every meal with instant noodles and TV dinners, never trying anything new if there’s no need to, it was the life style I was used to. Until something inevitable occurred, I was not only forced to face my attitude towards life but began to search for tools to well-neaten my memories.
I found Local Guides program.
Classification according to locations just fitted my sorting preference. It was really thoughtful popping up the users’ memories upon checking the locations according to their track. And it was also extraordinarily enjoyable to see the targets of levels and badges achieved one by one through contributing more and more.
Something very different just happened. I started to explore my living/working districts for fun things and regional style along with the visible spots on the map. Further, I made the district living/entertainment guides for anyone new here to take as reference. After doing so in 2-3 districts, being not satisfied with this anymore, I began to challenge myself making plans abroad just relying on information from Google Map, and making complete travel walkthroughs including consumer price comparison, public security, transportation and culture core.
I’ve become an explorer, storyteller and breakthrough seeker, thanks to the inspiration of Local Guides program, which is an indispensable part of my daily usual nowadays.
What the most interesting thing is that, when I keep doing so, my colleagues and people find out and join me, try to break ourselves through and pursuing for better ways of life. That’s what Local Guides program means, a new, breakthrough life style, not only to me, but to us.
